Assistant Track and Field Coach (Throws or Multi Events)

Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the Men’s & Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field program, including but not limited to coaching, recruiting, fundraising, social media, camps, academic progress, and any other duties as assigned. Start date: August 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruitment of quality student athletes including but not limited to: off-campus evaluation, contacts, organization of on-campus visits, and tryouts.
  • Work with the Head Coach in development and implementation of Throws training program, including strength and conditioning
  • Attend and instruct during all competitions, practices, strength and conditioning sessions, and individual workouts.
  • 4. Organize and execute all academic monitoring of all XC/TF student-athletes, including study hall and grade checks.
  • 5. Maintain a good working relationship with all athletic coaches and staff regarding facility use and condition.
  • 6. Other duties assigned by the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong written/oral communication; organizational skills
  • Previous experience as a coach or athlete at the collegiate level.
  • Skills in graphic design and/or social media or marketing.
  • Ability to lift objects of 50-lb. or more; frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
