 Compensation: $22.24 per hour

POSITION PURPOSE

Support the Head Coach in managing all aspects of the Women’s Soccer Program in alignment with the College’s values and NCAA Division III philosophy. Reports to the Head Women’s Soccer Coach. This 0.93 FTE position works 1,934 hours annually.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Coaching & Player Development (50%)

  • Teach fundamental techniques and sportsmanship.
  • Assist with practices, training, game plans, and film analysis.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model.

Recruitment (20%)

  • Help develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting plan.

Team Operations (15%)

  • Assist with travel, lodging, and meals for away contests.
  • Support positive team representation off-campus.

Outreach & Representation (5%)

  • Coordinate alumni and community events.
  • Represent Whitman with integrity; build professional relationships.

Compliance & Safety (5%)

  • Follow Whitman, NWC, and NCAA Division III rules.
  • Promote safety and responsible facility use.
  • Complete 40 hours of game management duties annually.

Evolving Responsibilities (5%)

  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism, and access.
  • Comfort with recruiting, training, film analysis, and social media.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree OR a combination of relevant education, training, and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • College-level or significant club/high school coaching experience.

Candidates are encouraged to apply even without all preferred qualifications.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • May require work on nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities including standing, running, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and frequent mobility.
