Intercollegiate athletics are integral to the overall educational experience at Eastern Oregon University. Director of Sports Information & Marketing has a key leadership role in carrying out the University’s and department’s mission, goals, and objectives. The Department of Athletics promotes core values that inspire academic excellence, athletic triumph, and community engagement through meaningful relationships and opportunities.

This position is responsible for the following outcomes:

  • Encouraging innovation and cultivate a mindset for growth;
  • Promoting community engagement and character development through respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and servant leadership;
  • Strictly adhering to the highest level of fiscal control and full compliance with all governing associations with transparency and integrity and must operate with strong fiscal oversight and have a positive year-end budget);
  • Engaging our student-athletes and alumni through collaborative efforts that reflect a “Lifetime Mountie” approach (develop and promote opportunities for alumni to participate in the giving of their own time, treasure, and talents in support of the Athletic Department and specific sport programs);
  • Supporting the physical, emotional, social, and mental development of student-athletes through a robust system of care and support;
  • Embracing the responsibility of equitable treatment and promotion of diversity, acceptance, and inclusion (ensure the program and department command immediate action against hate acts, violence, hazing, or other forms of discrimination);
  • Working with the Assistant Sports Information Director implementing a comprehensive marketing and promotions plan to increase attendance at home events;
  • Assisting the Director of Athletics with executing the department’s annual strategic plan;
  • Managing all home event operations and media coverage for away competitions; and
  • Meeting all required deadlines, as outlined by the Conference and the NAIA.
