POSITION: Head Spirit Coach

SALARY:                   Salary Low to mid $50’s DOQ.  Excellent benefits package.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position will oversee and grow the College’s Cheer, Dance, and Mascot programs while supporting athletic game-day operations and building campus-pride initiatives. Duties include, but are not limited to management and development of all aspects of a collegiate program: coaching, recruiting, retaining, and developing academically eligible Cheer and Dance student-athletes, scouting, scheduling, budget and scholarship management, supervision of assistant/student coaches, academic monitoring, development of team policies and procedures, development and implementation of off-season conditioning, knowledge of and adherence to college, conference, and NAIA rules and regulations, as well as marketing and fund-raising for the program. Will foster a culture of academic success, sportsmanship, leadership, and personal development.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in physical education or related field required, Master’s degree  preferred. Previous head coaching experience at the college and/or high school level is preferred as well as Previous cheer, dance, or spirit coaching experience. Experience with collegiate-level recruitment preferred. Must possess strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Evening, weekend, holiday and travel are required. An ability to work in an environment where the education, welfare, and graduation of student-athletes receive primary emphasis. Proven managerial and fiscal skills are required. Must have valid driver’s license and follow all rules and regulations of the College, NAIA, and HEART.

This position is subject to veterans’ preference. Offers of employment will be conditional upon satisfactory results of a background check (criminal and credit). Work authorization and/or visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
