The Mission of NACE

The purpose of NACE is to promote the education and development of students through intercollegiate esports participation. Member institutions, although varied and diverse, share a common commitment to high standards and to the principle that participation in organized esports competition serves as an integral part of the total educational process.

Job Summary

The administrative authority of the Association is vested in the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) Executive Director. In the exercise of this authority, it shall be the duty of the NACE Executive Director to seek the advice of appropriate leaders within the NACE governance structure and exercise best judgment in an earnest effort to promote the best interests of NACE and its members.

Duties and Responsibilities

Member Caretaking and NACE Administration (33%)

· Responsible for all contracts regarding the property, funds, projects and activities as necessary and proper for the successful execution of the functions of the organization

· Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business procedures

· Keep all councils, committees and all member institutions informed in all matters pertaining to the general welfare of NACE

· Receive all funds belonging to NACE and deposit in financial institutions that are approved by the Board, and have full power to draw checks against such financial institution deposits as are required to pay the debts, expenses and other financial obligations of the Association

· Be the custodian of all property belonging to NACE

· Secure an annual audit of books and accounts, and present such audit to the Board

· Be responsible for presenting to the Board a detailed report of all receipts and disbursements during the preceding fiscal year ending June 30 and a proposed operating budget for the ensuing fiscal year

· Oversee all necessary arrangements for the various events conducted under the auspices of NACE

· Aggressively pursue membership of institutions meeting the standards of the Association

· Be the official representative of the Association at occasions suggesting and requiring the presence of the NACE Executive Director

· Be an advocate for the value proposition that NACE offers to communities within the Collegiate Varsity Esports industry

Non-dues Revenue and Partnerships (33%)

This position will diversify NACE income through non-dues revenue streams which is critical for the financial stability and growth of the organization. It allows the association to invest in new programs and services without relying solely on membership fees, thereby enhancing the value offered to members and sustaining long-term operations.

Program & Staff Development (33%)

Investing in program and staff development is crucial for maintaining the effectiveness and relevance of the organization’s offerings. By providing training, resources, and leadership opportunities, this pillar supports members in their roles and promotes innovation within the organization. It ensures that programs are well-supported and staff are equipped to excel, contributing to the overall success of the association.

· Responsible for the employment and direction of National Office staff

· Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of National Office staff

· Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations

· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

· Ensure that accurate records are kept of all meetings and business of the Association

· Actively seek opportunities to clearly and transparently communicate Association business and vision to members in a timely manner

Requirements

Required Qualifications

· Working knowledge of the collegiate esports industry

· Dedication to the success of collegiate esports

· Ability to elevate student and member experience, growth and development. Must maintain a focus for executive decisions on members and students.

· Ability to ensure that our competitive products are delivered to the standards of our members: high-quality, fair, and inclusive, including ability to prioritize integrity, fair play, and competitive excellence

· Ability to project a positive image of the organization to employees, members, industry, and community

Required Skills and Abilities

· Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance

· Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

· Superior managerial and diplomacy skills

· Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Discord, Google Suite or related software

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

· Experience in strategic planning, contract negotiation and budget management

· Experience in partnership or sponsorship sales

· Ability to show concern for student experience, growth, and development.

· Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Education and Experience

· Master’s degree in Business Administration or similar working experience

· Extensive and diversified background

· Thorough and high-level experience in esports and/or collegiate esports with at least two years of related experience

· Experience in leadership in a non-profit setting

Physical Requirements

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

· Bend to access wires under desk and disconnect/connect wires to a computer station

· Ability to travel up to 20 days a year
